A Note From the Editor
"To create more positive results in your life, replace 'if only' with 'next time.'"

Quilting is always changing and improving. It's all about the colors, the fabrics and new ways to make the process better. That's not to say the old ways are bad, but with change comes more opportunities. We live in a changing world, and for quilting to survive, it must grow and change also.
Pyramids, our Vintage Review & Renew selection for this issue, is a perfect example of how things may change but still remain the same. This pattern was originally published in our fall 1987 issue of Quilt World Omnibook. The original used templates; in our updated version the assembly option uses a ruler and rotary-cutting techniques. What a difference in the time required for construction! This one is worth checking out.
This issue has something for everyone. Autumn projects with a sprinkle of early Christmas are all wrapped up with lots of inspiration. We have quilts that are large, medium and small -- table runners, wall hangings and panel projects. Several designs have size options. We have every skill level and style you could possibly want, and we have ideas to start your holiday gifts. It's a great collection of projects from some of the best designers. We have autumn-themed, creative and inspirational projects. Some of my personal favorites in this issue are Autumn Fantasy on page 10, Tic-Tac-Toe on page 100 and Poinsettias on page 56.
Mary Buvia, our featured designer for this issue, is well worth reading about, and you'll love her quilts. She is an exceptionally talented award-winning quilter.
Life is all about choices, trials, errors and more opportunities. So is quilting. Learn from each experience and take that knowledge to the next project. Don't be afraid to try new and exciting techniques.
