We have a few quilters needing a bit of advice. If you can help them, I would gladly pass on the information.

"I am looking for a Lone Star pattern made with half-square triangles. Does anyone know where I can purchase one?" -- Nancy B.

"This year I decided to plan my projects a little bit better. I usually see a pattern or fabric, and then create a quilt or other handmade items. This year, I purchased a binder and plastic protective sheets from an office-supply store, and then I made a list of all the quilts that I wanted to make for designated people and when they should be given (birthdays, Christmas, etc.).

"I printed out a calendar page for each month, inserted them into individual plastic sheets, and then placed them behind the month in which I wanted to start them so that they would be finished on time. Also, I included some helpful hints, coupons in the front inside pocket, and extra quilt ideas into this binder. When I took this ‘binder project' to my Sit and Stitch group, they thought I was a little too organized for them -- I had to laugh! Hopefully, this system will help me complete my gifts on time this year!" -- Linda P.

"On your desire to clean up and clean out: You are attempting to clean a badly stained antique quilt. Good for you! My theory when trying to clean something, to ease the tension and anxiety, is this: If the article is ruined in the state it is in, you really can't do it any harm. You do have a chance of fixing it or making it usable, so don't worry. Once my daughter had a favorite sweater that got stained, and it was unwearable as it was. After trying a number of products with no success, I bleached it for over two hours. It did take the stain out, along with all the color. What had been an unwearable tan sweater turned into a stain-free pink one! So, when you reach the point of no return, try anything; just be prepared for something different." -- Madeline W.

What a wonderful way to approach this kind of a problem! I will remember it next time I am faced with a dilemma such as the beautiful vintage Sunbonnet Sue quilt.
