Magazines and books are the perfect place to go for ideas for coming events.

It's amazing how a simple photo or statement can spark the inspiration for a new quilt project. You page through a magazine or book, and maybe a color or block pattern will spur that all important idea. You find the perfect quilt pattern for a graduating niece, or a memory quilt for a retirement celebration. That's when a quilt is actually born. Or maybe an advertisement of a fabric collection sends you to your graph paper or pattern box.

Colors come together, ideas grow into concepts and then into sketches or diagrams. Whether you choose to use a published pattern or design your own, the process and excitement are the same. Fabric selection, color themes and the trip to the local quilt shop are all a part of the creative process.
